Pastor’s Blog - A blog of Pastor John Murley, Senior Pastor at Edmonton South SDA Church
In 1993 Hollywood released the touching story of a boy named Jesse, an orphan without parents who was bounced from one foster home to another, and ended up living on the streets. One night, he was caught spraying graffiti with his friend in a theme park. Part of Jesse's punishment involved cleaning up the damage he caused at the park, where the new attraction was Willy, a killer whale who was being trained to do tricks. Jesse and Willy, both stranded without families in a place where they don't fit in, develop a close emotional bond, and with Jesse's help Willy begins to display aptitude as a performer. However, the owner of the park, who didn’t much care for animals had the whale insured for $1 million dollars. He figured that the whale was worth more dead than alive. Jesse learns about the owner’s plans and, along with his friends, rescue their aquatic friend and return him to the ocean.
